EcoFlow has unveiled a new piece of headgear that’s turning heads for all the right reasons: the Power Hat. Combining fashion with function, this wide-brimmed sun hat is embedded with solar cells designed to charge your phone while you soak up the sun. Priced at $129, the Power Hat is touted to fully charge a 4,000mAh smartphone in just 3 to 4 hours, making it an ideal companion for outdoor enthusiasts or anyone stranded in a sun-scorched landscape.
The Power Hat features solar cells made from advanced passivated emitter and rear contact (PERC) monocrystalline silicon, providing around 12 watts of charging power. Equipped with both USB-A and USB-C connectors under the brim, the hat combines utility with convenience. Despite its high-tech features, the hat weighs a manageable 370 grams, ensuring comfort even on long wear.
Durability is a key feature of the Power Hat. It is IP65 rated, which means it’s resistant to dust and can handle water jets from any angle—though it might not withstand a direct blast from a super soaker. This ruggedness adds an extra layer of reliability for adventures in unpredictable weather.
Available in two sizes, the Power Hat can be adjusted to fit a range of head sizes: 56–58cm (22–22.8 inches) for the smaller size and 59–61cm (23.2–24 inches) for the larger. Preorders are open until August 31st, with shipments expected to begin in mid-September.
